In the Spotlight: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in NH, in partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, helped Granite United Way package weekend bags of food and fresh produce that were distributed to 500 families in Manchester. Anthem also assisted Families in Transition-New Horizons with a cleaning project at one of its affordable housing units and prepped the garden beds. Produce grown in the garden supplements meals served at shelters.

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series schedule includes a July 18 visit to The Magic Mile. The Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 will be the historic 50th visit by NASCAR’s premier series to NH Motor Speedway in Loudon and once again serve as the season’s last race prior to NASCAR’s mid-summer break.

Ohm Lifestyle Center in Wolfeboro is opening the largest therapeutic float room in the northeast, adding to float therapy its offerings as a full-service organic spa, beauty and wellness center.

Meredith Village Savings Bank, a member institution of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, was approved for $100,000 in funding in the 2020 Jobs for New England Recovery Grant Program, to provide grants to small businesses and non-profit organizations affected by COVID-19. Applications are available through October 23.

Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity launched a program to remove lead from homes in Claremont through a series of three $10,000 grants awarded to families. The program is funded by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester hired Becky Tetrault and Jake Powers to its commercial banking department. Tetrault joins as commercial lending officer. She has been with St. Mary’s Bank since 2004. Powers joins as business services officer. He most recently served as St. Mary’s senior accountant.

APDerm, a physician-led dermatology practice, opened an office in Portsmouth, the company’s fifth dermatology office in NH, and 25th in New England. Board-certified dermatologists Brian M Connolly, MD and Hamad Alabdulrazzaq, MD will treat patients at the new location.

Sealite USA in Tilton, a USA government-designated small business, has hired new staff, invested in new equipment, and expanded its building after receiving a U.S. Air Force contract for $50 million over five years for interim expeditionary airfield lighting systems.

The regional accounting firm of Nathan Wechsler & Company, PA in Concord promoted Ashley Major, CPA, a member of the firm since 2010, to senior manager. She is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NH Society of CPAs.
