In the Spotlight: Cheshire Medical Center in Keene hired Paul Sanders, MD, to the general surgery department. Prior to Cheshire, Sanders was a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, serving at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Fort Bliss, Texas. Thatcher Friant, MSPAS, PA-C, joins the emergency department as a certified physician assistant. Brynne Underhill, APRN, joins the urology department and Alisha Russell, APRN, the general surgery department. Barbara Simoneau joined Merrimack County Savings Bank as assistant vice president, mortgage operations officer for mortgage loan processing. She is based out of the bank’s office in Concord.

Having worked previously for Easterseals NH, she has more than 15 years of marketing and nonprofit event planning experience and is currently working towards her master’s degree in community development at UNH.

New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation in Plymouth awarded 12 grants in June totaling $54,395 to the following organizations: Carroll County RSVP, Easterseals NH, Gibson Center for Senior Services, Lakes Region Community Services, LISTEN Community Services, Local Foods Plymouth, NH Audubon, NH Public Radio, Pemi Youth Center, Reach High Scholars Program Raymond, Squam Lakes Association, and White Horse Addiction Center.

Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Professional Association promoted CPA Ryan Maran to the manager of its Wolfeboro office. A member of the American Institute of CPAs and NH Society of CPAs where he serves on the young professionals' committee. He is also the treasurer of the board of directors for the Wolfeboro Area Chamber of Commerce and the Wolfeboro Area Recreation Association.

The Art Center in Dover is hosting a virtual Contemporary & Abstract Art Exhibition. Guests can visit virtual rooms to see how the show is essentially set up at The Art Center Gallery. By clicking on each picture, users get the name of the work, artist, price, size and the ability to purchase the work right from the website. Guests can also make an appointment to see the show in person; six people at a time, masks required. The exhibit runs through the end of August.

Andrea Tupick, RN, BSN, was named Androscoggin Valley Hospital's 2020 Employee of the Year. Each year, employees at the Berlin hospital submit nominations for the individual they feel is most deserving of the award. The award celebrates the values of service, quality, integrity, communication, collaboration, flexibility, and ownership.

Messer Pond Protective Association received a grant of $36,750 to implement stormwater improvements and best management practices that, according to the NH Department of Environmental Services, will help improve the water quality of Messer Pond in New London.

The Milford Rotary Club awarded $32,000 in scholarships (of $1,000 to $2,000) to 26 students. Milford High School recipients are Autumn Aren, Gabriella Monico, Elisabeth Roadcap, Valeri Vander-Heyden, and Lauren Auger. Souhegan High School recipients are Thomas Greenwood; Megan Tupaj, Isabelle Aiello, Alec Reitter, Micheal Estabrook, and Alexandra Lacrosse. Wilton High School recipients are Natalie April, Madeline Smith, Kaitlin LoVerme, and Jude Roberts. The club’s Marcia Perry Scholarships went to Evmorfia Alton – Amherst; Delaney Corcoran - Mont Vernon; and Sarah Whittier - Milford. Scholarship renewals went to Elise Lambert, Karly Infanti, and Emmett Ramm of Amherst; to Allison Skare of Milford, Lexi Balam of Lyndeborough; Allie DeGraffenried of Milford; and to Hannah Kelley and Fiona Kennedy of Wilton.
