In the Spotlight: Cartographic Associates, Inc., CAI Technologies, a municipal mapping and GIS services company in Littleton, acquired Russell Graphics, a municipal mapping firm that has provided services to Vermont municipalities for more than three decades. Founded in 1985, CAI has grown to serve nearly 500 local, regional, and state governments throughout the eastern U.S.

Encore Commercial, developers of Market and Main in Bedford, have entered into an agreement with Broadway Hospitality Group, to bring its Tavern in the Square restaurant to its mixed-use, Class A development on South River Road in Bedford. Broadway Hospitality Group operates Tavern in the Square restaurants and other concepts in communities throughout New England.

The NH Liquor Commission is launching a “Keep it Local” sale to support NH wineries and distilleries in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through August 30, NH Liquor & Wine Outlet customers will receive a 20% discount when they purchase three or more mixed and matched bottles of NH wines and spirits.

Undergraduate nursing students applying to Rivier University in Nashua for fall 2021 are no longer required to submit SAT/ACT scores for admission consideration. The school claims this admissions policy change provides greater accessibility to a college education, streamlines the application process, and encourages a more diverse applicant pool. All of Rivier’s undergraduate programs now include the test-optional admissions policy.

The Local Crowd (TLC) Monadnock's TLC 4WARD campaign raised close to $8,000 in funding since its inception on June 1, which have benefitted the following Keene area businesses: Archway Farm, CC&D's Kitchen Market, Monadnock Food Co-op, Orchard Hill Breadworks and Prime Roast Coffee Roasters. The campaign continues through August at tlcmonadnock.com/4ward.

The National Cancer Institute awarded two grants that will support the research teams at Dartmouth’s and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) that are lending expertise to find COVID-19 solutions. $204,000 was  awarded for research into the sustainability of telemedicine for rural cancer patients and $328,000 will fund research co-led by the NCCC laboratory of Paul Guyre, PhD, who has a 35-year history of studying antibodies and the receptors on human cells to which they bind, with Steven Fiering, PhD, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and member of the Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy Research Program at NCCC.

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory, an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry, landed a key role in the advancement of the Automotive Audio Bus technology developed by Massachusetts-based Analog Devices. The lab will provide A2B conformance testing, an essential element of the broader A2B ecosystem. While the A2B technology was initially targeted towards automotive use cases, there is also a future for A2B in emerging consumer and building technology segments.

HRCU in Rochester awarded scholarships to Quentin Bezanker, a 2020 graduate of Spaulding High School (SHS) who will be attending Husson University; Emalie Johnson, a 2019 graduate of SHS attending the University of New Hampshire (UNH); Anthony LaBruto, a 2019 graduate of SHS attending Emerson College; Margaret Pomeroy, a 2018 SHS graduate attending Dean College; and Isabella Smith-Davenport, a 2019 Farmington High School graduate attending UNH. HRCU also awarded Allison Files, Alex Laroche and Casey Wohlers with scholarships in recognition of their outstanding achievement in this year’s HRCU’s Banking and Financial Support Services class at Spaulding.
