In the Spotlight: NHHEAF Network Organizations in Concord named Erik Sobel VP of information services. He is responsible for the development, implementation and management of all information systems and security. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Sobel previously served as the director of information security and systems at Northeast Delta Dental.

In other news at NHHEAF, the Organizations’ employee-led charitable giving program, NHHEAF Network Cares, donated a $1,000 to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which provides college scholarships and educational counseling to children of military personnel killed in the line of duty.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester was recognized as a top 10 lender by NH's Housing Finance Authority for the eighth consecutive year.

St. Mary’s also recently hired Kyle Schneck as director of commercial banking. Schneck has more than 16 years experience serving businesses in the commercial banking, retail banking, and capital markets industries.

Arts In Reach (AIR), a Portsmouth-based nonprofit that empowers teenage girls through inclusive, creative community, named Debra Holloway its executive director. Holloway has been the AIR grant writer for two years and a supporter of the group since its inception.

The president of the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA), Kent Devereaux, will become the 12th president of Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. During his time at NHIA, he helped revise the curriculum, launched innovative new degree and certificate programs, tripled the college’s annual fundraising, and also initiated and completed the successful merger of NHIA with New England College in Henniker.

Simon Hillier, MD, was appointed chair and service line leader for anesthesiology and perioperative services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon. He served as interim chair since 2017 and established an important collaboration between neurology, neurosurgery and anesthesiology to create the new Neuro Intensive Care Unit that will open at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in July.

Newburyport Bank donated $4,000 to the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce for its 8th Annual Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival to be held October 5 at Swasey Park in Exeter.

The NH Job Training Fund granted Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities in Keene $15,440, which will be matched by the organization, to fund training opportunities for its staff. More than 50 staff will have new training opportunities over the next year. The fund supports training and technical education to NH businesses and entities who pay quarterly taxes into the NH Unemployment Trust Fund.

Brookstone Builders, a construction management and general contracting firm in Manchester, completed a company-wide first aid and CPR training program, delivered by Manchester Safety Specialists and included training for dealing with multiple emergencies and ways to promote overall workplace safety.

Ledyard National Bank’s senior VP of mortgage and consumer lending, Michael Urnezis, along with 30 representatives of local non-profit organizations and businesses, graduated from Vital Communities’ Leadership Upper Valley Program, a 10-session intensive program that covers topics imperative to developing an understanding of the many nuances involved in sustaining a healthy community.

HealthcareGIVES, a giving circle of Seacoast medical professionals that provide grants to non-profit organizations, selected the Lamprey Health Care Dental Emergency Fund in Newmarket as its 2019 Healthcare GIVES grant recipient. The donation to date is more than $13,000 and the giving circle will continue to raise funds through the summer.

Red Arrow Diner in Manchester was featured in a clue on JEOPARDY!, America’s Favorite Quiz Show, which aired on May 28. The diner was a Daily Double clue worth $800 in a category titled Eastern Seaboard. The clue was tied to the upcoming Presidential Primaries as White House hopefuls visit the Red Arrow Diner.

NAI Norwood Group completed the sale of 2743 Brown Avenue in Manchester for $295,000. The buyer of the 1.75+/- acre parcel plans to tear down the existing multifamily residential building and erect a veterinary clinic approximately 10,000 square feet in size.

ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care and Lakes Region General Healthcare (LRGHealthcare) are formalizing their existing relationship with an official partnership of all three Lakes Region urgent care centers located in Belmont, Alton and coming soon to Tilton. The Tilton center will be located at 75 Laconia Road, in the Hobby Lobby parking lot, and is projected to open by early fall 2019.
