Great American Downtown, a nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing downtown Nashua, appointed Alyssa O’Mara as its new executive director. O’Mara previously served as the programs manager at the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce.

He joins Community Bank from Bar Harbor Bank & Trust where he served as VP and community banking relationship manager. Prior, he led commercial real estate loan originations for Plum Commercial Real Estate Lending as executive vice president of the Northeast Region.

Granite Edvance donated $100,000 to a fund designed to help ensure students at NH’s community colleges complete their degrees by assisting with short-term, non-academic expenses such as food, housing, childcare and transportation. This is on top of an initial donation of $80,000, which has so far helped over 100 students at the state’s seven community colleges. The fund was created last year through a partnership between The Foundation for NH Community Colleges and Granite Edvance.

Erik M. Shessler, MD, Dartmouth Health Children’s primary care community chair, was named Pediatrician of the Year by the NH chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (NHAAP). Shessler is the immediate past president of NHAAP. Shessler is also associate medical director for Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Manchester and medical director for the NH Pediatric Improvement Partnership.

Sharma is a corporate transactional attorney who began her legal career in India at a boutique financial law firm serving banking institutions. Before joining McLane Middleton, she practiced as a corporate attorney with a well-established firm in Worcester, Mass.
