St. Mary’s to Support CMC Pregnancy Care Center

St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, made the first installment of a $500,000 gift to Catholic Medical Center through its recently formed St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation. The Foundation was established to ensure that St. Mary’s Bank can sustain a high level of community giving for the long term.

The pledge, to be made over a five-year span, supports Catholic Medical Center’s Pregnancy Care Center, which is now named the St. Mary’s Bank Pregnancy Care Center. Half of the donated funds will be used for CMC’s Building with Heart capital campaign and half will go toward making treatment affordable for lower-income families.

“We are proud to further Catholic Medical Center’s goal of providing mothers and newborns with the highest level of prenatal and postnatal care,” said Ron Covey, president and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank and St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation. “In keeping with our commitment to serve the underserved, it is especially significant that a portion of our gift will be used to make such essential healthcare services available to more families, regardless of income.”

“This gift to the Pregnancy Care Center is a perfect reflection of the missions of both CMC and St. Mary’s Bank,” said Alex Walker, president of CMC. The compassionate care and programs of the Pregnancy Care Center truly serve those most in need. This gift helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of Manchester families.”

“The establishment of this new foundation demonstrates St. Mary’s Bank’s intention to not only maintain but deepen its financial commitment to non-profit organizations and charitable causes that benefit members, and the community at large,” said Guy Chapdelaine, Chairman of the St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation.
