SCU Impact Foundation Supporting Vets

The Service CU Impact Foundation and the Robert Irvine Foundation announced their annual Golf Charity Classic that will be taking place on August 31 at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club in Rye. The event focuses on supporting veterans.

For the second year in a row, the Robert Irvine Foundation will be the benefactor of the charity golf event. The Robert Irvine Foundation gives back to vets for the sacrifices made through service. They offer outreach programs and provide grants to improve the lives of our military personnel (active, retired and veterans), first responders, and their families.

Irvine, a 16-year British Navy veteran and world-class chef behind the popular TV programs “Dinner: Impossible” and “Restaurant: Impossible,” created the Robert Irvine Foundation to help veterans.

The Service CU Impact Foundation, the 501(c)3 non-profit charity arm of Service Credit Union, headquartered in Portsmouth, promotes community development by funding initiatives that deliver solutions and solve problems facing the communities the credit union serves.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Robert Irvine Foundation for this incredible event. The Irvine Foundation’s mission is very near and dear to our own hearts, and aligns with one of the Service CU Impact Foundation’s main philanthropic areas of focus: emergency care for our veterans and military. The funds raised by the golf classic last year allowed us to make a true impact on organizations such as the Homeland Heroes Foundation, Liberty House and the Landstuhl Fisher House, and this year is already shaping up to help us make even larger impact,” said David Araujo, president-chair of the Service CU Impact Foundation.

As part of its fundraising efforts, the Impact Foundation is also hosting an online silent auction from August 17 through August 31. To make a bid, visit the auction site.

“We are honored to be chosen for the second year in a row as the beneficiary of this amazing golf tournament,” said Robert Irvine, founder of the Robert Irvine Foundation. “Having partners that align with our mission is very important to me and my team. The Service CU Impact Foundation does an incredible job, and we are grateful for their generous support.”
