Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to Hire 200

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is looking to hire approximately 200 people and will hold a job fair at the Kittery Community Center on April 30. According to a story by Hadley Barndollar at Seacoastonline.com, the radiological control office, quality control division and production department have select openings eligible for direct hire authority, which allows resumes to be collected at one-day events like job fairs, and the local human resource officers to begin an immediate review of an applicant's qualifications. Openings include marine electricians, painters, shipwrights, fabric workers, service electricians, pipe-fitters and more. Some entry-level positions begin at $18.55/hour.
