CHARLESTOWN — North Star Health will be hosting a ribbon cutting for a new, in-house pharmacy in Charlestown later this month, the nonprofit said in a news release Monday.
The pharmacy officially opened last November. It is the only pharmacy in town, and it offers prescription pick up and free delivery to locals across New Hampshire and Vermont, according to North Star Health Communications and Development Director Jessica Everlith.
“We want everyone to have a trusted pharmacy nearby, with a friendly, knowledgeable pharmacist who knows them and is connected to their care,” North Star CEO Joshua Dufresne said in the release.
The ribbon cutting is planned for 250 Ceda Road and will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony is open to the public and will give locals an opportunity to tour the facility and interact with pharmacy staff, the release said.

North Star Health is a federally qualified health center that also has several locations in Vermont. The nonprofit opened two additional pharmacies at its Londonderry and Springfield, Vt. locations last fall, according to the release. The health provider also offers primary care, mental health, vision and dental services.
North Star Health said in a news release it will “integrate” patient care between its pharmacies and medical teams, meaning doctors and pharmacists will coordinate with each other to prescribe medication.
Because the pharmacies are located in the health centers, pharmacists are able to easily communicate with North Star providers, which allows for more seamless access to care and a “one-stop-shop” for patients,” Everlith said.
Everlith said while Charlestown’s pharmacy is tied to its health clinic, customers hoping to pick up medication do not need to be patients of North Star.
