NH's Hot Tech Companies

Tech took a big hit during the recession, which in turn dealt a major blow to NH's economy. Much of our manufacturing base is in high tech, and after years of growth, NH's high tech employment has been in a downward spiral for most of the last decade, according to the NH Economic and Labor Market Information Bureau.

Between 2008 and 2009, high tech lost more than 4,000 jobs, the largest one-year decline since the state lost 9,407 high tech jobs in 2002, according to state data. But having talented tech people floating in the marketplace-combined with explosive developments in Internet technology and smart phones-means the potential for hot tech startups.

After all, there are signs high tech is recovering. High tech exports in the state are skyrocketing and defense contracts are also on the rise, the Bureau reports. So which companies are creating a buzz?

We asked that question of tech experts in the state who had no problem coming up with answers-too many to feature, in fact. Here are a few of the hot startups in NH as well as a couple of established tech companies that are seeing their fortunes rise. The question now is who will catch fire?
