NH Retail Law Enforcement Partner of the Year

Officer Andrew Wood, Newington Police Department, was named the NH Retail Association's 2021 Law Enforcement Partner of the Year.

Each year, the NH Retail Association's Law Enforcement Partner of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding member of law enforcement who has helped retailers open the lines of communication between retailers and law enforcement.

Eric Braiser, general manager of the Mall at Fox Run in Newington, said, "Officer Wood has a passion for protecting the public that is second to none, and to the tremendous benefit of all the merchants in the seacoast area, his focus is on retail."

Officer Wood was instrumental in developing Recurring Retail Watch Meetings that bridge the interests of local retailers with members of law enforcement and raise awareness of the resources available. He also started a database of contacts in the seacoast retail community to share information on arrests, bulletins, and helpful directives.

Understanding the threat that explosives could pose to the community, Officer Wood partnered with Mike Bilodeau, chief of the Newington Police Department, to acquire Augie, the only explosives detection dog in the seacoast.
