NH Players Bet More Than $7.1 Million on Super Bowl

The state's players and sports fans were rewarded for their faith in Tom Brady, as the NH Lottery paid out more than $8.8 million in winnings from Super Bowl bets. The lottery commission estimates that more than $7.1 million bets were placed on the Super Bowl, with more than 81% of those placed on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who won the game. Super Bowl betting was up by nearly $5 million compared to last year, when betting totaled $2.31 million.

“Sports fans across New England know you cannot bet against Tom Brady, even if it is a little bittersweet watching him lead a different team to a Super Bowl championship. We want to congratulate our players for remaining loyal to the GOAT and for winning big in this year’s Super Bowl,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the NH Lottery. “With players betting more than $7.1 million, the volume of wagering on the Super Bowl speaks for itself. We are pleased to see the continued enthusiastic response to sports betting here in New Hampshire and we are excited to continue building momentum with this still relatively new product.”

New Hampshire players also scored big wins with a number of prop bets for the game. Some of the most popular Tampa Bay Super Bowl bets by NH players included betting Tom Brady to win the Super Bowl MVP award and picking Rob Gronkowski to either score a touchdown or to score the game’s first touchdown. Brady did win his fifth Super Bowl MVP award and Rob Gronkowski did score the game’s first touchdown as well.
