NH Dems Announce New Executive Director

Published Tuesday Dec 16, 2008

New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Raymond Buckley announced that he has selected Michael Brunelle as executive director for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Brunelle is currently political director of the NHDP.

"Mike has proven himself over the years to be a talented political organizer. As we move into the new era as the majority party in New Hampshire, he will bring his tireless dedication and substantial skills to the job," said Buckley. "Mike served as the election liaison with the legislative and council candidates this year - notably his efforts organizing the successful reelection of Executive Councilor John Shea. Mike also was the point of contact for our local and county organizations and served as the lead staff person for the successful 2008 state convention."

Brunelle, 24, is a Manchester native and a graduate of the Univ. of New Hampshire. After rejoining the NHDP staff earlier in the year, Brunelle was named political director. Previously he had served with the Chris Dodd for President campaign and served one term as a member of the NH House of Representatives, choosing not to seek re-election. While in the legislature, he served on the House Ways and Means Committee. In 2007, the Union Leader named Brunelle one of its "Forty Under Forty."

Buckley says he will not be filling the political director position.
