Lauren A. Geddes Wirth
New London Hospital (NLH), a member of Dartmouth Health, has appointed Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, as its CEO and president. Geddes Wirth was appointed interim president and CEO in March. She succeeds Tom Manion, who departed New London Hospital in April 2024 to become the CEO of Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
“Since joining NLH in September 2023 as chief medical officer, Dr. Geddes Wirth has proven to be a visionary leader, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence,” says Joanne M. Conroy, MD, CEO and president of Dartmouth Health. “Her extensive background in outpatient care, program development and executive leadership has made a significant contribution to the culture and growth of NLH. We are confident under her leadership and strategic vision, NLH will continue to be a regional leader of compassionate and exceptional care.”
Prior to New London Hospital, Geddes Wirth held multiple leadership positions in the Mass General Brigham (Community Physician Organization, including medical director roles and physician wellbeing chair. She also owned and practiced at Mill Brook Pediatrics. Geddes Wirth is also a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Geddes Wirth obtained her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and attended medical school at the former Brown-Dartmouth Medical Program. She completed her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island and was selected to serve an additional year as chief resident in pediatrics.
