New Data Shows How Immigrants in NH are Integral to the State

The American Immigration Council recently released data on NH’s immigrant population and their contributions to the Granite State. According to the NH state fact sheet, 6 percent (or 79,959, as of 2015) of NH’s population were born in another country. Forty-four percent of immigrants in NH possess a college degree or higher.

Immigrants in the state have also paid $598 million in federal taxes and $170.6 million in state and local taxes in 2014. Of NH’s immigrant population, 38, 334 were women, 35,555 were men, and 6,070 were children in 2015.
