More Than 11 Million Teens View Pornography Online

Published Thursday Nov 20, 2008

Zort Labs, Inc., a new Internet security company in Dover, NH, has created and just made available to the public, their first product: netblox˙. netblox˙ is a hardware solution that filters Internet content and provides computer security, enabling users to have complete control over the protection of their home network and Internet content. netblox˙blocks sites containing pornography, violence and/or hate content and protects computers from malware, viruses and undocumented threats like identity theft.

According to Zort, the statistics are staggering. Fully 70 percent of children ages 8 to 18 stumble across pornography online. Eighty-one percent of parents of online teens say that teens aren't careful enough when giving out information about themselves and 79 percent of online teens agree. But pornography isn't the only problem. Thousands of sites promote discriminatory hate content and violence, illegal pharmaceutical sales, disturbing suicides, online gambling, and more.

Team member Dave Burrows explains, "Everything available on the market this far has been software based, which comes with its own set of problems, like kids can override user codes, it uses up a lot of memory and doesn't offer all the features that we've put into netblox. We've worked persistently for the last two years to engineer cutting-edge technology."

Businesses will be interested in this product as well. Because cable modems allow uninterrupted access to the Internet, users are constantly subjected to attacks on their privacy, identity and computer systems. netblox˙ counters these attacks by interrogating all online traffic before it reaches your network.

netblox˙is a simple device that connects to the computer and cable modem. Simply plugging it in and registering online, allow users to instantly become protected, with no need to install any software. Users configure their netblox˙security specifications through a password-protected Web site. netblox˙is extremely resistant to both internal and external hacking and has centralized, 24/7 monitoring from the Zort Labs headquarters, much like a home security system.

The team behind netblox˙includes David Burrows, James Case, Brian Locke, and Nathan Paquin. For more information or to purchase netblox, visit www.buynetblox.com or call (877) 540-9678.
