Mascoma Bank is one of only a handful of B-certified corporations in NH, which means it is committed to balancing purpose with profits and considers the effect of its decisions on its workers, customers, suppliers, the community, and the environment. This commitment has helped propel and keep the financial institution on the “Best Companies” list.
Employees are active in the bank’s governance, from seeking to improve how the bank lives its values to a team focused on reducing the bank’s environmental footprint. There’s also a leadership development program that graduates 15 students annually.
Through its profit-sharing program, all employees, including part-time employees, are eligible for a payout if the bank meets or exceeds its goals. To celebrate milestone anniversaries, employees can choose either a cash bonus or additional days off, ranging from $100 to $1,500 and one to five days, based on years of service, respectively.
The bank offers a student loan paydown plan of $100 per month for up to 60 months. For those taking college courses, the bank offers annual tuition reimbursement of $2,000 to $3,000.
Through the employee-assisted housing program, employees receive a .25% rate reduction on the loan.
Mascoma Bank offers other perks that include matching employees’ donations to charities up to $300, giving each employee a gift of $100 at Thanksgiving, and extending 16 hours of paid time for volunteer service.
