CCA wants to hear from its employees. Managers have an open-door policy and the company has developed an official pitching program for employees who have ideas that they think could be impactful. If an idea is seen as having potential, the pitch committee will match the individual with a mentor to help test and potentially launch the program. If selected for implementation, CCA provides funding for a pilot.
Employee recognition is a hallmark of company culture. Quarterly town hall meetings focus on recognizing the efforts of individual employees so everyone can learn about their contributions.
CCA welcomes children to the workplace whenever an employee needs to bring them, including vacation weeks, weather-related delays or other unexpected events. Managers are encouraged to offer flexibility and Fridays are dog days in the office.
CCA has 19 employees in NH’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program through three local schools, mentoring the kids during visits to CCA. In 2018, the staff committed nearly 1,000 hours of service.
All this, and more, has led to impressive employee loyalty and longevity. During the past year, 12 employees celebrated their 10th anniversary and received $1,000 gift cards; 18 celebrated their 15th anniversary and received $1,500 gift cards; four celebrated their 20th anniversary and received $2,000 gift cards and six celebrated their 25th anniversaries and received $2,500 gift cards.
