The rush to develop COVID-19 vaccines meant labs needed equipment, including single-use technology, a focus of Foxx Life Sciences. As a result, revenue at the Londonderry-based company has skyrocketed.

The company has two major divisions: a laboratory division that serves researchers at universities and biotech firms, and a bio-process division that develops and manufactures products and disposables for drug and vaccine manufacturers.

While laboratory business fell 35% in 2020, sales in its bio-process division kicked into high gear, Taylor says.

“Because we’re a science-based company, we were very aware of the COVID situation early,” Taylor says. “We were very aggressive, set protocols and ordered temperature monitoring and masks. We never lost a single day of manufacturing.” The company also became a provider of masks and testing kits, further driving sales, including providing more than 600,000 test kits for NH colleges and universities.

Even before the pandemic, Foxx Life Sciences was increasing sales by 40% year-over-year for 10 of the past 11 years, Taylor says. The pandemic has only increased that growth rate. “The company is on track to almost double this year,” he says.

Taylor says the company’s “secret sauce” is its innovation and annual product line expansion. “What differentiates us from our competitors is we focus heavily on product innovation. We start with design and development all the way through manufacturing,” he says.

In the past year, Foxx hired 40 employees and is seeking to fill another 30 to 50 positions. The company also opened a new 75,000-square-foot facility in Londonderry as well as a new facility in India.
