My Fellow Wildcats –

For the past 10 years, I’ve had the honor of serving as president of this great university. I love everything about UNH – our remarkable people, our beautiful campuses, our deep traditions, and our steadfast commitment as a public institution to the welfare of our state. This is an extraordinary place. Serving as president has been the highlight of my professional career. But, as Ecclesiastes (and Pete Seeger) put it, there is a time to every purpose, and for me the time has come to announce that I’ve decided to step down from the presidency on June 30, 2018.

It has been a privilege to work with all of you. And I’ll look forward to continuing that work at an unslackened pace through the 2017-18 academic year, during which time the University System of New Hampshire board of trustees will organize a national search for my successor.

But for now let me say how grateful I am to all of you. Thanks to your dedication, hard work and creativity, an already vibrant institution is positioned for an even brighter future.

Every day is, and always will be, a great day to be a Wildcat.

Mark W. Huddleston
President
