Beer for History

The American Independence Museum's 2018 Beer for History series takes place at the historic Folsom Tavern on the grounds of the museum in Exeter. On four Thursdays, September 20, October 4, October 18 and November 1, a different brewer will be featured.

Exeter's own Neighborhood Beer Co. kicks off the series followed by Earth Eagle Brewings, which is located in Portsmouth, Throwback Brewery (new this year), which is located in North Hampton, and 7th Settlement Brewery, which is located in Dover.

In addition to craft beer, each event will feature, tavern activities, which may include Colonial Tavern Games, Colonial Trivia, and/or an escape room. Lexie’s Burger Bus will also be at each event.

“This is a chance to have a beer in a tavern where George Washington once ate,” says museum Executive Director Emma Bray. “Exeter is very much an up and coming destination for music and the arts, so we are excited to open Folsom Tavern up for community events much like it was originally intended when it was built in 1775.”
