Employees don’t just land jobs at Boothby Therapy Services, they craft their lives. Boothby refers to its employment process as a “Life Empowerment Program” and asks potential employees to define their ideal schedule, such as a compressed work week, the student population they prefer to work with as well as their preferred work location/setting, and commuting time to ensure they can be placed in a position that allows them to balance their personal and work lives and find the best fit. Boothby also offers 20 to 25 days of paid time off annually.

Each new employee is welcomed with a handwritten notecard and company swag, which includes tumblers, fleece blankets, cutting boards and more. At the beginning of each year, employees are given a “Favorite Things” sheet to fill out about their favorite food, music, hobbies, retailers and other faves so managers can reward them in meaningful ways. To that end, each manager is also given a “toolbox” filled with gift cards for various restaurants and retailers.

Boothby Therapy Services provides one-on-one support to each employee through its related services managers, who are professionals who are similarly licensed in the field of those they support and mentor.

Each year, clinical fellows, speech-language pathologists in their first year of employment, are grouped into a cohort where they meet monthly to discuss and share their experiences and are provided continuing education courses. When a fellowship is completed, the company celebrates with gifts and a party. Boothby also allots $25,000 annually for educational assistance, paying 50% of the cost of courses up to $2,500 per year.
