Alene Candles to Honor Community Members

Alene Candles in Milford is launching a program to honor local community members and to provide additional resources to area nonprofits. With the public’s help, Alene’s Milford Luminaries program will recognize four outstanding individuals for their contributions to the Milford community through their jobs or volunteer work.

Each of the four Luminaries will choose a nonprofit to receive a $1,000 donation from Alene. Nominations can be submitted at www.alene.com/milfordluminaries and are due by October 18.

“The Milford community has been a tremendous host for Alene Candles for nearly 25 years,” said Rod Harl, president of Alene Candles. “We want to do our part by shining a light on the people who make Milford a wonderful place to live and work, whether they volunteer with the PTO or church, teach in our schools, or work for a local nonprofit. We are excited to see who is nominated as we know there are so many residents doing so much for our community.”

Friends, colleagues, or family members can nominate deserving individuals who live or work in Milford for this recognition. Nominators will be asked to share specific information about the nominee’s contributions to the community and provide a list of organizations the nominee works with. Recipients will be selected based on their involvement in and contributions to the Milford community.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to award those who are normally behind the scenes, giving their all to an organization or event from which so many benefit,” Harl added. “Now is the time to bring them into the light to honor all of their hard work and dedication. We look forward to recognizing these deserving individuals and the organizations they care so much about.”
