At GSSI, the camaraderie starts before day one. Each new staff member receives a welcome package at their house the Friday before their first day. On their first day, they are welcomed with a lunch with the entire department and president. New employees also receive a 26-page culture book, written by GSSI employees that includes the company history, where to find coffee in the building, restaurants in the area, an overview of annual company events, maps of the building, and more.

GSSI offers a 9/80 schedule where employees work 80 hours over nine days and receive every other Friday off. In addition to this, GSSI provides 15 to 25 days paid time off. All veterans receive Veteran’s Day off as an additional paid holiday to honor their service. Employees that reach 20, 25, 30, 35 (and so on) years of service receive a “loyalty vacation award,” which consists of a travel voucher and a extra week’s vacation.

GSSI has a recreation room with exercise equipment, a ping pong table, a putting green, foosball table, punching bag, and a smart TV. Offsite outings have included indoor skydiving, rock climbing, beer tasting, lunch cruises, laser tag, ax throwing, bowling, and escape rooms.

Employees pursuing higher education are reimbursed up to $12,000 for tuition costs. Employees who adopt a cat or dog from an animal shelter are reimbursed up to $500 to cover adoption costs. Refer a new employee to GSSI and you can get a bonus ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 depending on the position filled. The company pays 90% of health insurance premiums and fully covers dental and vison insurance as well.
