At DEW, employees have the freedom to decide how they do their best work. In addition to receiving 16 to 20 days of paid time off annually, six personal days and seven paid holidays, employees at the office are given the freedom to design their
own schedules.
DEW provides each employee with eight hours of paid time off for community service annually and matches employee contributions to nonprofits up to $150 annually. DEW’s Culture Committee selects a community involvement project each quarter that employees can participate in. These have included organizing a food drive, participating in the Penguin Plunge, and rowing across Lake Champlain for a good cause.
Through its wellness reimbursement program, DEW reimburses employee for the cost of wellness checks and healthy activities such as gym memberships, ski passes, and yoga classes. The company fully covers short-term and long-term disability insurance for employees. If DEW hires someone an employee refers, the referring employee receives $500, and at the new employee’s 6-month anniversary, the referee receives another $1,500. DEW also has a formal program to mentor and develop project engineers for leadership roles.
DEW shows its appreciation in a variety of ways including giving DEW-branded swag, hosting employee gatherings and lunches, and organizing appreciation BBQs. It celebrates national holidays such as Employee Appreciation Day, Administrative Professionals Day, Marketing Professionals Day, Women in Construction Week, and employee baby showers and wedding showers with gifts.
