This fourth-generation family-owned business is committed to employee engagement and giving back to the community. PROCON encourages charitable giving by matching employee donations up to $150 to any nonprofit. The company also contributes $50 per employee toward community supported agriculture (CSA) shares, helping them access fresh, local produce.
The PROCON executive team meets quarterly with new hires over breakfast and every month, PROCON’s CEO John Stebbins visits job sites, providing lunch to field teams.
PROCON often surprises employees with extra paychecks throughout the year. The firm provides breakfast for all office employees on Fridays, and during the summer arranges for ice cream delivery to all job sites. PROCON also hosts outings for field teams, including visits to Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park that included behind-the-scenes tours and meeting Patriots and Red Sox players.
PROCON organizes annual open house events for employees and their families that include a photo booth, a petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts and a bubble show, as well as dinner and ice cream. PROCON hosts an annual “Hiketober” event to encourage employees and their families and friends to hike and submit photos of their adventures, which also enters them into a raffle.
In addition to providing three weeks of paid paternity leave and 16 weeks of paid maternity leave, PROCON provides 15 days of leave to employees who adopt a child to meet pre-adoption and post-adoption needs.
To celebrate milestone anniversaries, employees spin a prize wheel that includes cash, tech, extra paid time off, and sports and concert event tickets. For milestone anniversaries that are 20 years and above, employees receive bonuses of $500 to $1,000 and a personalized gift, which have included trips, Bruins tickets, and tractor attachments.
