Mainstay Technologies celebrates milestone anniversaries in a big way by offering sabbaticals. When celebrating their five-year anniversary, team members may choose between either a $2,000 bonus or an extra two weeks of paid time off. They also have the option of using this time alongside their regular amount of paid time off for an extended break or to mix and match the two, such as taking one week of paid time off, and receiving a $1,000 bonus. At their 10-year anniversary, team members can receive either $5,000, or five extra weeks of paid time off, or a combination of the two. Sabbaticals continue to be awarded for long-standing, dedicated team members with an extra two weeks at 15-years, another five-week sabbatical at 20 years, and 10 weeks at 25 years.
Team members start with a minimum of three weeks of paid time off and by year seven earn up to five weeks of paid time off. Team members can also flex their schedules. Mainstay has intentionally controlled its growth rate for the specific purpose of ensuring team members are able to maintain a strong life-work balance and still deliver for clients.
Team members share in the success of Mainstay, earning a profit-sharing bonus paid out twice per year. In 2023, the total payment was approximately 5% of the team member’s salary. The team member has the choice of taking it as a bonus, placing it into their 401(k), or donating it to charity.
Each employee can choose several of their favorite books for Mainstay to purchase for its internal library. Starting in 2025, Mainstay will also institute an employee stock ownership program available to all employees.
