Loftware has a family-first attitude, allowing employees to take time off as long as their work gets done. Telecommuting is a common practice and, to facilitate that, each employee is given a laptop connected to a virtual private network.

The software company holds monthly themed parties for employees to get to know each other, complete with appetizers, adult refreshments, games and prizes. A different department is in charge of each event, creating a fun rivalry to outdo one another.

Loftware’s Wellness Program offers yoga, walking groups and an onsite gym. A wellness committee holds challenges, such as “Fitbit Bingo,” with prizes for weekly winners. For those who prefer chilling out, Loftware offers a quiet room with sofas where employees can relax.

The company cafeteria offers a ping-pong table and wide-screen TV, as well as diner booths and MP3 jukeboxes. The company also provides desks that can be controlled automatically for sitting or standing and an electric car charger.

Finding ways to say thank you is important and some activities have included “Popcorn Fridays,” a visit from an ice cream truck, a “turkey bonus” at Thanksgiving and a bottle of champagne and a handwritten card for each employee from the CEO at Christmas.

At Loftware’s annual awards dinner, a funny video, created by each department, is premiered and employees vote for their favorite. Teams work with a professional film and sound crew to shoot their ideas, allowing employees to explore their own creativity, step out of their routine and have fun.
